Metro Paramedic Services, Inc. is a subsidiary of Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Services, Inc. We contract with local municipalities to provide Emergency Medical Services, Rescue and/or Fire Services. The basic function of the Paramedic Supervisor is to provide direction and supervision for Firefighting and medical care and transportation for patients at the Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) level, within their scope of practice, as stipulated by Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the CDH EMS. In addition to regular Firefighter/Paramedic responsibilities, the Contract Manager acts as a liaison between shift employees, Metro’s Operations Manager, Fire Department Command Staff, and the Village.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is consistently required to sit; use hands, fingers, handle, feel; and talk, hear & see. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to work under high pressure in a fast-paced environment with employees in multiple locations. Travel to other company and incident locations is required. Lifting requirements of a minimum of 75 lbs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly in verbal contact with others and constantly works face-to-face with and around others. Consistently uses office equipment such as computers, typewriters, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, keyboard, calculator, stapler, etc. Constantly uses all paramedic-related equipment and drives ambulance in partnership with other paramedics or supervisors.
